Dear Friend,

When it comes to our children’s education, The Texas Legislature turned their back on our most innocent population and cut funding for our schools in 2011 and never re-allocated that money back to restore funding for public schools. It gets worse: according to The Dallas-Morning News, the most recent STAAR Exam (which is our Standardized Testing Program in Texas) was found to have multiple errors. For instance, there was a “test question with no right answer.” That’s unacceptable to me. I will end these tests if elected.

Agencies for those in need are being dissolved due to the Sunset Commission, our crumbling Farm-to-Market roads need attention, our Rainy Day Fund is dwindling due to the drop in oil prices, college students are being “priced” out of a college education or have outrageous sums of debt awaiting them after they graduate, and so much more that we cannot wait! We need new leadership, not establishment leadership, and it’s time that we joined to raise funds so I can be your next State Representative for Jones, Taylor, and Nolan Counties.

If oil prices do not stabilize we need to think about alternative commodity resources so our Rainy Day Fund does not run dry. I am the only person in this race advocating marijuana legalization for the purposes of supplementing the Rainy Day Fund when oil prices are in the tank.

In 2015, taxes from the sale of cannabis, in Colorado, rocketed to $60 million. Just in June of 2015, Colorado raked in over $8 million in tax revenue from the sale of marijuana. Texas is several times larger than Colorado, and if taxed appropriately, it can help to prevent all the deleterious shortfalls that plague our Rainy Day Fund.

I will fight to repeal Standardized Tests. I will fight to expand Medicaid. I will fight to make college more affordable than ever. I will fight to legalize marijuana to increase our revenue for state and local infrastructure to create new jobs. And finally, I will listen to and respect all people in this District. Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Libertarians, Tea Partiers, and any other party affiliation: I will represent You in the Texas House.

This isn’t going to be easy, but I’m ready for the hard work. The easy part is where you come in: donate anything you can. And I mean anything you can. $5, $10, $20, $50, or $100 at or you can mail donations to me at: 70 Ponderosa Cir. Abilene, TX 79605.
